Practice Round:
Competitors are kindly granted courtesy of the course for one practice round prior to the championship. Practice times are available after 13.00 on Saturday 27 July. On Sunday 28 July practice will be available between 09.00 and 17.00. Competitors unable to practice on Saturday 27 or Sunday 28 July may arrange an alternative time by prior arrangement with the club. Bookings for practice times must be made in advance by telephoning on 01250 872622 (option 2).

The official practice rounds will be played from the championship tees.

NB: Demand for practice times on Sunday 28 July is expected to be extremely high therefore competitors local to Blairgowrie Golf Club are respectfully asked and encouraged to utilise the practice times on Saturday 27 July.

Additional practice rounds will be charged at £15.00.

Practice Facilities:
Competitors may use the club’s practice ground at Carsie and must practice from within the designated hitting area. There will be balls supplied at the range for competitors.
PRACTICE BALLS MUST NOT BE REMOVED FROM THE RANGE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. ANY PLAYER FOUND GUILTY OF THIS ACTION WILL BE LIABLE TO DISCIPLINARY ACTION BY THE CHAMPIONSHIP COMMITTEE.

There is a short game area and practice putting green near the clubhouse, which is 220 yards long where 8 bays are available. Balls at this area will be charged at £1 for bucket of 25.

The practice ground will be open 45 minutes before the first tee off time on all championship days. Practice ground hours of operation will be posted at the Championship Office and at the Driving Range Office.

Competitors using any of the above practice facilities do so at their own risk.

Registration:
Competitors must report to the Championship Office a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the first round tee off time.

Each competitor will be issued with a copy of the local rules, pin positions, pace of play guidelines and bag tag when registering at the Championship Office.

Course and Play:
Competitors must report to the official starter at the first tee five minutes before they are due to play.

Caddies are permitted for the duration of the Championship.

When a match is over, play must stop and the winner report the result of the match to the Championship Office without undue delay.

Pace of Play:
Players will be required to read the SGU pace of play guidelines prior to registering at the Championship Office. Full guidelines are also available on the SGU 2013 Rules hard card.

The SGU Pace of Play Policy will be implemented for the duration of the championship with roving referees on course to enforce any necessary actions.

Withdrawals:
Withdrawals will not be accepted at any time unless confirmed by email, fax or letter. A competitor failing to notify SGUL by this method before 17:00 on Friday 26 July will be subject to an automatic ban of up to two years from all SGUL events. Only in exceptional circumstances and on formal appeal to the Championship Committee will the ban be lifted.

A player is not permitted to withdraw at any stage of the championship except for emergency reasons or medical circumstances explained to and deemed acceptable by the Championship Committee. A player failing to notify the Championship Committee in person of his withdrawal before departing the championship venue will be subject to an automatic ban of up to two years from all SGUL events. Only in exceptional circumstances and on formal appeal will the ban be lifted.

Car Park:
Competitors may use the main car park with an overflow available if required. The Scottish Golf Union and Blairgowrie Golf Club cannot accept responsibility for any damage to cars.

Catering:
Coffee, tea and morning rolls will be available from 06.15 for first three days of the Championship and from 07.15 thereafter. Food will be served all day with last orders 10-15 minutes after close of play each day. A limited menu will be in place for the duration of the championship. All catering is at the competitor's own expense.

Clubhouse:
The clubhouse will be open one hour before the first tee-time on each day. Competitors, their families and guests are permitted the use of the clubhouse facilities.

In all clubhouse areas and on the course casual wear is acceptable for competitors, but must be smart. THE WEARING OF JEANS, DENIM TROUSERS, SLEEVELESS OR COLLARLESS SHIRTS, TRACK SUITS AND TRAINING SHOES IS NOT PERMITTED. Hats must be removed before entering the Clubhouse. Golf shoes are prohibited in the lounge and restaurant.

Competitors under 18 years of age shall not be allowed to purchase alcoholic drinks.

MOBILE PHONES MUST BE SWITCHED OFF IN THE CLUBHOUSE.

Changing facilities are available in the Gents locker rooms. There are lockers available, which are coin operated, for the storage of small bags. There are showers available however competitors are advised to bring their own towel.

Trolleys and Yardage Books:
The professional’s shop has a limited number of trolleys for hire on a first come first serve basis. Yardage books are also available for purchase at £3.50.

Insurance:
The entry fee includes cover in respect of competitors' legal liability in the event of injury to another person or damage to a third party property. An excess will apply.

Presentation:
Bronze medals will be presented to the losing semi-finalists at the close of play on Friday 2 August. The championship trophy and finalist medals will be presented at the close of play on Saturday 3 August. Medal winners are expected to attend the relevant prize giving.

Responsibility:
Blairgowrie Golf Club and the Scottish Golf Union cannot accept responsibility for players’ property during the championship or on the days when practice is permitted.
